1993 was the year of DB2's 10th anniversary. It was the year that DB2 Version 3 was announced and became generally available (GA) on October 25, 1991 and then again on March 22, 1992. New features/functions delivered by DB2 V3 were:
- Partition independence
- Dynamically control buffer pool characteristics with ALTER BUFFERPOOL
- DISPLAY BUFFERPOOL
