So, if I was looking for B then International Business Machines would give me a match on the letter B in Business. If I was looking for 'N', then I would not get any match at all.

Sometimes the cure can be almost as bad as the problem

I got my Thinkpad fro IT Desktop Support late yesterday. I now works flawlessly. I really do appreciate the time the support person took to get my machine working again, especially at the last minute. I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow and I really needed my notebook back before I left.. Of course, you know there is going to be a "However" or I wouldn't be blogging. She said she would back

A 14 Trillion dollar startup

These are really tough times for US and the world in general. Other parts of the world are not impacted so severly as US since they had not much to loose. US economy has lost few million jobs, hundreds of thousands of businesses, Trillion's of dollars from stock market and above all the basic faith and the American Dream. I think we can blame no one but just us.

Date Problem

The following script (or something much like it) runs continuously on a web server and does something when the date changes (i.e. at the bewitching hour). Problem is, it does it 2 or 3 times, when I want it to do it only once. Any ideas anyone? $start_date = "2008-09-20"; # this 'date' (string) will never change
